West Branch Eyes Harris as New Head Coach

West Branch has elected to stay in-house for its next high school head football coach.  Ken Harris, an veteran assistant coach for the Warriors, will be recommended as the new head coach to the West Branch Local Board of Education for approval Thursday night.

Playing aggressively in all phases, Minerva controlled the first quarter against Alliance in the second regular-season meeting between the Eastern Buckeye Conference rivals.   After surviving that early eight-minute onslaught, the Aviators regrouped and rallied for a 57-51 win over the Lions Friday night.

The Marlington Dukes outscored the West Branch Warriors 18-7 in the third quarter to break open a close game on their way to a 64-51 win in an Eastern Buckeye Conference boys basketball game on Friday night.

Could Weather Impact Mercy Classic?

The only thing Hoover High School Athletic Director Tim Walker can do now is hope for the best.Final preparations for the 15th Mercy Medical Classic hosted by Hoover are being made this week. The 20-team boys basketball event is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday with five games set for each day.  What Walker and others associated with the Mercy Medical Classic can’t control is the weather.
