Indians’ Lindor out indefinitely with ankle injury

MINNEAPOLIS -- Cleveland Indians star shortstop Francisco Lindor's recovery from a strained right calf muscle has been set back by another injury: a sprained left ankle. Manager Terry Francona said Wednesday in Minnesota, where the Indians will start the season, that Lindor was hurt running the bases in a minor league intrasquad game at the team's spring training home in Arizona.

Tribe’s Ramirez takes grounders after knee injury

Cleveland is not sure whether Jose Ramirez will play in Thursday's opener at Minnesota. The All-Star third baseman took ground balls on Monday at the Indians' spring training complex in Arizona, a day after he fouled a pitch off the area below his left knee and left the field in a cart. The Indians said he will rejoin the team for a workout on Wednesday. Manager Terry Francona says Ramirez taking the field is "a pretty good indicator he's doing all right."

GM says Browns have plan for suspended Hunt

X-rays negative on Indians 3B Ramirez’s knee

Cleveland Indians All-Star third baseman Jose Ramirez suffered a left knee contusion after fouling a ball off his left leg in a spring training game against the Chicago White Sox, the team announced Sunday. Ramirez was carted off the field and underwent X-rays, which came back negative. No timetable for his return has been set and Ramirez will stay in Arizona for the time being to receive treatment.
