DETROIT -- Leonys Martin capped a successful return to Detroit with another fine day at the plate. Martin had three hits, including a solo home run in the third inning, and the Cleveland Indians beat the Detroit Tigers 4-0 on Thursday. Shane Bieber allowed three hits in seven innings for the Indians, who have won six of seven after taking two of three in this series.

CANTON It’s official: Marcus Wattley is McKinley High School’s new head football coach. The Canton City school board voted 3-0 Monday to hire Wattley as the new head coach under a one-year contract, earning $9,167 a year. The board also hired Wattley as the academic and athletic liaison for grades 6-12, effective April 15, with an annual salary of $79,867.

CLEVELAND -- Toronto was no match for Mike Clevinger, who was stopped Sunday only by upper back tightness that forced him from the game after five scoreless innings. Clevinger struck out 10 and allowed one hit to lead the Cleveland Indians over the struggling Blue Jays 3-1 for a four-game sweep.
