James Laurinaitis joins Notre Dame Fighting Irish in support staff role

Notre Dame is hiring former Ohio State and NFL linebacker James Laurinaitis for its support staff. Laurinaitis, a teammate of new Fighting Irish coach Marcus Freeman with the Buckeyes, announced his move to Notre Dame on the show he co-hosts for WBNS-AM radio in Columbus, Ohio. A source told ESPN that Laurinaitis, who became a broadcaster after his NFL career, likely would join the Notre Dame staff in an analyst role.

Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback C.J. Stroud named Big Ten offensive player and freshman of year

The Big Ten announced Wednesday that Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud is its offensive player of the year and freshman of the year. Stroud led the nation's top offense and ranks among the top seven passers in eight categories. His 70.9% completion rate and 351.1 yards per game are on track to be school single-season records, and his 3,862 passing yards rank second in school history; his 38 touchdown passes are third.

Cleveland Cavaliers’ Collin Sexton done for season after torn meniscus surgery

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Collin Sexton's season is over after surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. Sexton, 22, hurt his knee Nov. 7 in a game against the New York Knicks. The Cavs didn't provide an update until Friday, when they said Sexton underwent surgery Wednesday in Atlanta.
