Stark Co. native, Jackson HS grad Dillon Dingler wins AL Gold Glove Award

Former Jackson Polar Bear and current Detroit Tigers catcher Dillon Dingler has won the Gold Glove Award for the American League. The 27-year-old logged 1,011⅔ innings behind the plate this season — the most by a Tigers catcher since Alex Avila in 2014. Offensively, Dingler hit .278 with 13 home runs, 23 walks, and a .752 OPS across 126 games.

Men’s Basketball: Raiders Picked First in OAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll

Mount Union's men's basketball team was picked to finish first in the Ohio Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Purple Raiders received 64 points in the poll, including all eight first place votes, as coaches cannot vote for their own team. They were also receiving votes in the D3hoops.com Preseason Top 25 Poll.

OHSAA Releases Football First Round Playoff Pairings

Following the conclusion of the football regular-season Saturday night, the Ohio High School Athletic Association announced the final computer ratings, playoff qualifiers and first-round pairings on Sunday afternoon. Unless otherwise noted, all first-round games will be played on Friday, October 31, with kickoffs set for 7 p.m.

OHSAA Announces Text and Voting Dates for Emergency NIL Bylaw

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio High School Athletic Association Board of Directors on Thursday set the dates that member high schools will vote on an emergency bylaw referendum on Name, Image and Likeness (NIL).
