Indians announce starting pitcher for Opening Day and it’s ‘Not Justin’

All-Star Game MVP Shane Bieber is “Not Justin,” but he is the starting pitcher for the Cleveland Indians’ Opening Day.

The Indians announced Bieber would be the Opening Day starter on Friday after he worked four scoreless innings, striking out seven of the 14 batters he faced in the Spring Training game against the Oakland Athletics.

Indians’ Oscar Mercado to have MRI on left wrist

Cleveland Indians outfielder Oscar Mercado will undergo an MRI on his left wrist, which he injured while making a diving catch in an exhibition game.

Manager Terry Francona said Mercado, who had a solid rookie season in 2019, will have the imaging tests on Friday. The team will provide an update on his status once the tests are completed and evaluated.

Browns expect Jarvis Landry to be ready for season after hip surgery

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry underwent surgery earlier this month to repair a nagging hip injury that hampered him throughout the 2019 season.

Landry had the surgery Feb. 4. A team source said Landry is expected to return at some point during training camp. The team said he is expected to make a full recovery for the 2020 season.
