OHSAA Releases Weekly Football Computer Ratings 10/18/22

There are 711 schools in this week’s 11-player football computer ratings. The 72 largest schools are in Division I, while the remaining schools are divided equally in Divisions II through VII (approximately 106 schools in each division). The top 20 schools in each region are listed below by division and region with record and average points. The football page at OHSAA.org includes an explanation of how the ratings are calculated. The top 16 teams in each region in the final report will qualify for the playoffs.

Cleveland Cavaliers sign Mamadi Diakite to a two-way contract

The Cavaliers have just signed Guinea native Mamadi Diakite on a two-way contract.

Diakite, a 6 feet, 9 inches tall, power forward has appeared in all four preseason games with the Cavaliers. Averaging 9.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.25 steals and 1.25 blocks in 16.8 minutes.

Akron North cancels two remaining football games amid mounting injuries

The waning weeks of the high school football season bring hopes for the playoffs, senior nights and homecomings. However, for the Akron North High School Vikings, the season came to an abrupt end this week after administrators and coaches determined the school couldn’t safely field a team, largely due to injuries.

OHSAA Releases Weekly Football Computer Ratings 10/11/22

The Ohio High School Athletic Association released the official weekly football computer ratings Tuesday. The computer ratings are released every Tuesday beginning in the fifth week of the season, leading up to the final report on Sunday, Oct. 23, when 448 schools – the top 16 in each region – will qualify for the playoffs.
