OHSAA Committed to Tournaments Despite Financial Cuts and Uncertainties
With 80-percent of OHSAA revenue coming from ticket sales at tournaments, additional cuts announced
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio High School Athletic Association plans to move forward with tournaments for all 26 of its sanctioned sports this school year, but will make cuts in other areas due a significant decrease in revenue from the cancellation of tournaments earlier this year and greatly reduced attendance permitted at upcoming tournaments.

The San Diego Padres acquired pitcher Mike Clevinger in a blockbuster deal with the Cleveland Indians, the Padres announced Monday.
Cleveland receives right-hander Cal Quantrill, outfielder Josh Naylor and catcher Austin Hedges, along with three minor league prospects -- shortstop Gabriel Arias, left-hander Joey Cantillo and shortstop Owen Miller.

The Akron Board of Education reversed two earlier decisions, and voted to allow contact and non-contact sports to proceed in the district. The 4-to-3 vote Monday evening also allows the resumption of practice and limited performance of high school marching bands.

The Cleveland Browns have been dealing with a laundry list of injuries since training camp kicked off last week but the team was dealt perhaps its biggest blow yet when the MRI results were revealed for rookie safety Grant Delpit who was carted off the field at camp on Monday afternoon.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Delpit suffered a torn Achilles tendon during practice. Rapoport reported that Delpit's season is likely over before it could even get started.
