The University of Mount Union men’s basketball team is set to lose a major piece of its backcourt. Sophomore standout Chance Casenhiser has officially entered the NCAA transfer portal, as first reported on Monday. Casenhiser, a dynamic scoring guard, is coming off a stellar 2025-26 campaign where he led the Purple Raiders in scoring, averaging 17.5 points per game. His performance on the court earned him First-Team All-OAC honors and solidified his reputation as one of the most prolific offensive threats in the conference.
In two seasons at Mount Union, Casenhiser appeared in 56 games, moving into a full-time starting role this past year. In a social media post addressing the move, he expressed gratitude to his teammates and the coaching staff while noting he is “testing the waters” for his final two years of eligibility.
