Canal Fulton Northwest High School girls’ basketball head coach Kevin Lower has officially stepped down. According to an official statement released by the school, Lower will pass the torch after a historic seven-year run that cemented the Northwest girls’ program as a powerhouse in Ohio high school basketball.
Lower leaves behind massive shoes to fill in Canal Fulton. A multiple-time OHSAA State Coach of the Year Award winner, Lower completely transformed the culture of the Indians’ program after taking over in 2019.
During his highly successful tenure, Lower guided the program to unprecedented heights:
- Historic State Run: In 2023, he led the girls’ team to their first-ever state tournament debut, capping off a phenomenal 27-3 season as the Division II State Runner-Up.
- PAC-7 Dominance: Lower consistently kept the Indians at the top of the food chain, including securing back-to-back outright PAC-7 titles through the 2025-2026 seasons.
