Three-star running back Jance Henry has officially transferred from Akron Archbishop Hoban back to his home state of Pennsylvania to play for Moon Area High School.
The move, confirmed on May 6, 2026, was driven by family circumstances. Henry’s father, who is disabled, requires medical care in Pennsylvania, prompting the standout junior to return home for his senior season.
A Major Blow to the Knights’ Backfield
Henry’s departure marks a significant roster shift for the Hoban Knights. As the team’s second-leading rusher last season, Henry was expected to be a cornerstone of their 2026 offense.
- Production: Henry rushed for 1,011 yards and five touchdowns in 2025, providing a powerful “one-two punch” alongside Brayton Feister.
- Massive Turnover: His exit follows the news that fellow star Brayton Feister also left the program just days earlier to transfer to Massillon Washington.
Returning to the WPIAL
Henry is no stranger to Pennsylvania high school football. Before moving to Ohio, he was a standout for Central Valley in the WPIAL, where he rushed for over 1,600 yards across two seasons.
- Recruiting Status: Currently ranked as a three-star recruit, Henry holds over 25 Division I offers, including interest from programs like Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Michigan State, and Wisconsin.
