Running back Kareem Hunt, who is seeking a contract extension, has requested a trade from the Cleveland Browns, but the team has privately declined that request, sources confirmed to ESPN.

The NFL on Wednesday appealed the six-game suspension for Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson, seeking a tougher penalty for violating the league's personal conduct policy in the wake of disciplinary officer Sue L. Robinson's ruling Monday.

2022 has been anything but a normal year for Cleveland sports, but then again, if there’s one thing Cleveland fans are used to, it’s uncertainty. You would think that the Cleveland Indians changing their name after 106 years would be the biggest story of the year, but with the upstart Cavaliers returning to championship contention and the Browns throwing away franchise QB Baker Mayfield for the controversial Deshaun Watson, many seem to forget the Guardians are even there at all. However, the Cleveland Guardians are here and even with all the injuries and roster turnovers, Manager Terry Francona has them on the verge of a playoff spot. Many wanted to see the Dolans and front office make a splash move this past offseason to kick start the rebrand, but now is their chance to redeem that hope at the trade deadline. Cleveland has had success at the deadline in years past, with acquisitions like Andrew Miller, Corey Kluber, Josh Naylor, Cliff Lee, and even Shoeless Joe Jackson. Fans want to see the team be aggressive and go get big names by Tuesday’s 6pm deadline, so here are 6 players the team should bring in:

Nathan LaRiccia has been named the Director of Athletic Communications at the University of Mount Union.

LaRiccia spent the last 10 years at Westminster College (Pa.) as the Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations for the 22 athletic teams on campus.

He served an integral part with several significant initiatives in the Sports Information department during his time, including live streaming, the Athletics website, and social media. LaRiccia has helped Westminster garner national attention, including nominating for the school's first and only Sports Illustrated's Faces in the Crowd and played a key role in a SportsCenter Top 10 appearance.

On Tuesday, the Browns placed cornerback Denzel Ward on the active/physically unable to perform (PUP) list for an injured foot and tackle Jack Conklin on the list for an injured knee.

Rookie wide receiver David Bell was placed on the (PUP) list last week.

Rookies and quarterbacks reported to training camp Friday, and while most of the players reporting will quickly get to work practicing, wide receiver David Bell will not be joining them right away, landing on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list.

Cavaliers do have an offer on the table to retain Sexton, but it's not one that he is likely to accept. According to Fedor, Cleveland's current offer is roughly $40 million over three seasons.

Browns training camp is just days away, and as the team begins preparing for the season while awaiting a decision on possible discipline for Deshaun Watson, Cleveland is adding another quarterback to the roster, signing former first-round pick Josh Rosen to a one-year deal, a league source confirmed to News 5.

Almost one full year ago, on July 21, 2021, news broke that Oklahoma and Texas had announced plans to leave the Big 12 for the SEC. Since then, 22 teams have announced conference changes ranging from shifts among the Group of 5, moving up to the Power 5, leaving independence and even new FCS callups. Until a couple weeks ago, college football fans in Ohio, with the exception of Cincinnati, were not impacted with their teams and conferences staying put. But now Ohio State will have two new conference foes from the west coast and potentially more to come. While 17% of the FBS changing conferences seems like a lot, many, including me, believe there are even more moves coming, some that could cause entire conferences to dissipate.
