The Browns are taking a new approach to team leadership this season, adding on to the Game Captain they've implemented in the past with season-long captains for all three phases of the game.

The Cleveland Browns have signed T Joe Haeg (pronounced HAY-g) and TE Jesse James to their active roster. To make this move, the team waived G Drew Forbes and LB Jordan Kunaszyk.

The Cavaliers are sending the Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen, rookie wing Ochai Agbaji, guard Collin Sexton, three unprotected first-round picks (2025, 2027 and 2029) and two pick swaps (2026 and 2028) for Mitchell, sources said.

The Cleveland Browns have claimed QB Kellen Mond (Minnesota Vikings) from waivers. In a corresponding move, the team terminated DE Isaac Rochell's contract.

The Browns have trimmed down their roster to 53 active players.

Len Dawson, who led the Kansas City Chiefs to victory in Super Bowl IV and was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame as both a player and broadcaster, has died at the age of 87, according to his family.

The NFL and the NFL Players Association on Thursday reached a settlement in the Deshaun Watson disciplinary matter, agreeing that the Cleveland Browns quarterback will serve an 11-game suspension without pay after he was accused by more than two dozen women of sexual misconduct during massage sessions.

Watson will also pay a fine of $5 million and undergo mandatory evaluation by behavioral experts and follow their suggested treatment program.
