Following the conclusion of the football regular-season Saturday night, the Ohio High School Athletic Association announced the final computer ratings, playoff qualifiers and first-round pairings on Sunday afternoon. Unless otherwise noted, all first-round games will be played on Friday, October 31, with kickoffs set for 7 p.m.

Former Cleveland Browns LB Carl Banks and LB Clay Matthews Jr. are among the 34 players who advanced to the next stage for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2026 in the seniors category.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio High School Athletic Association Board of Directors on Thursday set the dates that member high schools will vote on an emergency bylaw referendum on Name, Image and Likeness (NIL). Schools will cast their votes from November 17-21, with the high school principal submitting the vote on behalf of the school.
In addition, the full text of the bylaw proposal is included below. The board approved the language at its September meeting in preparation for a vote of member schools during the regular referendum voting process in early May, or sooner due to legal action, as permitted by OHSAA bylaw 8-1-1.

Lake High School senior Justin Landes is home after spending nearly a week in the hospital following a serious injury sustained during a football game earlier this month.

Landes’ parents shared the update Thursday morning, expressing gratitude for the community’s support as their son continues to recover.

After making a game-defining play on a kick return against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, Browns safety Grant Delpit earned some accolades from the league, being named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.

The Ohio High School Athletic Association has announced the schedule and ticket details for the football state championship games December 4-6 at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton. All-session tickets and a special ticket package for football teams are on sale beginning Monday, October 20.

On Friday evening, Justin Landes, a senior at Lake High School and football student-athlete
was seriously injured during a play in the 3 quarter of the game between Lake and Hoover.
After being evaluated on-site by sports medicine staff from both schools, Justin was
transported by the Uniontown Fire Department to Akron Children’s Hospital for further
evaluation. It was determined late Friday night that Justin had sustained a laceration of his
right kidney.

Austin Hedges is staying with the Guardians for the 2026 season. The veteran backup catcher has reached an agreement to return to Cleveland for a sixth season.
