Marcus Wattley officially hired as McKinley head football coach

CANTON It’s official: Marcus Wattley is McKinley High School’s new head football coach.

The Canton City school board voted 3-0 Monday to hire Wattley as the new head coach under a one-year contract, earning $9,167 a year. The board also hired Wattley as the academic and athletic liaison for grades 6-12, effective April 15, with an annual salary of $79,867.

Late rally from Curve downs Ducks, 3-2

The RubberDucks jumped out to an early lead 2-0 over the Altoona Curve in the second inning when Wilson Garcia led off with a double and came around to score on a Mitch Longo RBI single. Longo then stole second base and scored on Logan Ice's single to right field. Altoona answered back in the fourth inning with a two-run double from Hunter Owen to tie the score at 2. That tie lasted until Logan Hill's eighth inning RBI double, making the score 3-2 in favor of the Curve.
