Indian Valley Names Samantha Dickerson Next Girls Basketball Head Coach

June 5, 2026

The Indian Valley Braves girls basketball program is turning to a familiar face with championship pedigree to lead them into the future, naming Samantha Dickerson as the team’s new varsity head coach.

Dickerson earned the promotion after spending time embedded in the program as the junior varsity head coach. Her transition to the top spot ensures structural stability and continuity for a roster that is hungry to make noise in the Inter-Valley Conference (IVC). She steps into the head coaching role following the departure of former head coach Jen Simmerman.
A Championship Heritage
Dickerson is no stranger to what it takes to win at the highest level in Ohio high school basketball. During her own prep playing career, she was a standout contributor at River View High School. She served as an integral piece of the Lady Bears’ legendary back-to-back state championship runs, bringing a wealth of elite postseason experience and a championship mindset to the Braves’ locker room.
That background will be crucial as she takes over an Indian Valley program aiming to re-establish itself as a consistent postseason threat.
