The Canton Local Board of Education approved the hiring of Coach Badre Bardawil as head football coach of the Wildcats during a special meeting on January 20.
Coach Bardawil brings 26 years of coaching experience in high school and middle school athletics, including head coaching experience at St. Thomas Aquinas High School and Claymont High School. His coaching background also includes serving as an Offensive Coordinator at Massillon High School, McKinley High School, and, most recently, Jackson High School.
A graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School, Coach Bardawil earned his Bachelor of Arts from Kent State University and is currently working toward his Master’s degree in Special Education at Muskingum University.
“We were fortunate to have a strong pool of candidates, but Coach Bardawil clearly stood out,” said Larry Tausch, superintendent of Canton Local Schools. “His experience, leadership style, and commitment to student-athletes align well with the values of our district and the tradition of Wildcat football.”
“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to lead the Canton South football program,” said Coach Bardawil. “This is a community that values hard work, relationships, and pride in its schools. I’m excited to get to work with our student-athletes, families, and coaches as we build something special together.”
