Fan favorite cut, 6th-round QB makes roster, preseason standout on IR

Rookie quarterback Taylen Green, the Browns' sixth-round pick out of Arkansas, has made the team. Green, a 6-foot-6 dual-threat who started two seasons for the Razorbacks after transferring from Boise State, went 5 of 7 passing for 27 yards and added 66 yards rushing in Cleveland's preseason finale against New England.

What does that mean for second-year QB Dillon Gabriel, who spent the offseason battling Green for the No. 3 spot? Gabriel remains with the team, though he's starting out on injured reserve. According to the Browns, Gabriel is dealing with a back injury and is designated to return.

Luke Floriea, the Mentor native and Kent State grad who shone with three touchdown receptions during the preseason, has been waived. According to Mary Kay Cabot of 3News media partner Cleveland.com, Cleveland hopes to sign Floriea to its practice squad and continue his development.
